Post Being forced to change one's password...
...is contraproductive, at least with me. I now simply increased a number in my old one because I don´t see much sense in it. I mean, this is not my online banking or email account - it´s just a forum, come on (which I hold dear anyway).
I just wanted to drop by before going to bed and read the last posts - no I must come up with some stupid password and write this post... I could already be asleep and dreaming

I understand your frustration. I've been with this site for nearly 10 years and with all the recent php updates I keep forgetting my password, having to have it reset and then adding a new one then forgetting it again.

But I assure you, it's the only way that Andorian can keep us all safe from the irritating spambots and hackers.

Well I guess those captchas do a pretty good job to keep automatic registering, they must be among the hardest I had to decypher so far
Still, having to change my password so often rather makes me stop visiting this forum than spambots not posting ;)

If Kobi didn't protect us all, I doubt anyone would bother showing up to read all their crap. Some of it looks like genuine posting.

wether or not the current captchas are better than those before still needs to be shown. However I still can't tell if the new registered accounts are from spambots or not.

I can only repeat that you may reuse your password after it expires. Though this concept goes against the main principle the software does not log which passwords were ever used. So if you are force to renew your password you may set it to some temporary one and then change it back moments later.

As an alternative I suggest to simply change some seasonal "attachement" to your password like your regular is "Kirk" you just use "KirkSummer" and "KirkWinter" from now on.
